Ashlee Simpson had an “intense” morning with Vincent Piazza before hitting the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards last night.
The singer graced the annual film ceremony with her Boardwalk Empire beau in hand on Sunday.
The pair revealed their red carpet preparation ahead of the SAGs, admitting it probably wasn’t the best idea.
“We laid in bed and watched a movie,” Ashlee told E! Online, before disclosing it was filmmaker Lars von Trier’s Melancholia. “It’s an apoplectic story of human depression. It was a really intense morning,” Vincent added.
“It certainly was heavy,” Ashlee laughed. “I was like, ‘OK, maybe we should watch something happier?’”
Ashlee also gushed about her pregnant big sister, Jessica. The blonde bombshell is expecting her first child with fiancé Eric Johnson later this year, and Ashlee says she couldn’t be happier.
“She’s amazing. She’s looking good and feeling good,” she exclaimed. “She’s completely content, so happy, It’s fun to be around her. It’s like ‘Yeah, I want some of that!’”
Ashlee has 3-year-old son Bronx with ex-husband Pete Wentz.
