The Sex Pistols have Signed a New Record Deal

A re-release of ‘Never Mind the Bollocks’ is in the works and now the Sex Pistols have announced that they will be signing a new record deal. The re-lease has been packaged for modern audiences and there are plenty of goodies for the fans that are intending to see their favorite band in full glory. The band is controversial at the best of times and one expects that they will not break the habit of a lifetime when they release the new album. You can expect some pretty weird anti establishment lyrics with the lead singers making a case for their credentials as the unreformed rebels.

Are you ready to be mercilessly offended?

If there is anything that we can learn from the Sex Pistols, it is the fact that music which troubles can be very viable in commercial terms. The punk band has established their credentials as one of the most challenged singing groups ever to grace the scene. You do not get the feeling that they are putting on an act but rather that they genuinely believe in the messages that are prevalent throughout their lyrics. They have managed to get a deal with the Universal Music Catalogue UK establishment. This is an opportunity to produce the 35th Anniversary Edition of the 1977 album which gave them their current credentials.

For some people the Sex Pistols represent real music for real music rather than the saccharine stuff that you get from the X-Factor. Others are not entirely convinced by the bad boy image which has been deliberately cultivated by the band. Karen Simmonds is a representative of their label and says that they are looking forward to the opportunity to re-evaluate all the money that the band has produced. This is both a cultural and musical event. Therefore you will find many unreformed punks gunning for the sales.
