Girls Aloud are to Reform for a Tour in 2013
They were doing really well when it was announced that one of the most successful British girl bands was disbanding temporarily. Now we hear that ‘Girls Aloud’ is planning on a tour in 2013 where they will look back at old material and do something new for the audiences. So far we have been concentrating on the exploits of Cheryl Cole who was unceremoniously invited and sacked from the X-Factor in the USA but her bandmates have been busy out of the limelight. Of course the danger for them is the possibility that the music may have moved on. They could have missed the boat for a successful career within the industry.
What can we expect from the band?
Surprisingly, this band with humble roots never gave the impression that they were amateurs in their chosen field. You got the distinct feeling that ‘Girls Aloud’ was here to stay. Their fans included rock pundits and other serious musicians. Next year is the 10th anniversary of their formation and they want to celebrate the event with an arena tour. It is not yet clear whether they are going back on a full time basis with plenty of records to work on. Nevertheless the fans will be more than happy to see their idols back in action.
There were hints that there was not enough material to be described as an album. Instead ‘Girls Aloud’ is sending out signals that they have one or two singles which will be used to complement some of their old stuff which was evidently successful. The news was broken by Coyle to the celebrity blogger Dean Piper during Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party. Unlike many bands that seem to drift away from one another, the members of this club seemed to have retained their close friendships.

Good to learn
