Figures released indicate that she is the top music money maker with over $35 million for last year. This was part of the trail announced by the 2012 Billboard Money Makers Poll. The artistic credibility is the most important thing but money can be a very good form of compensation especially when you are an established figure that has nothing more to prove. In the US she grossed about $88 million in the USA for the Speak Now tour. Of that she was entitled to claim $29.8 as her own personal income.

Pop Country is a genre that is gaining in credence despite the sneering from some people who did not fully understand the music and culture that backed it. Taylor Swift has made 1.8 million in album sales within the USA alone. The single track sales on the digital front are said to bring her up to $7.8 million. There will be lots of money coming in from the songwriting royalties and that means that this is a young woman who is going to be rich for a very long time indeed.
Other winners in the listings included U2 as a consequence of their 360 Degrees tour. The 3rd and 4th places were taken by Kenny Chesney and Lady Gaga. The 5th position went to Lil Wayne. This is a very big surprise to people who had underestimated the talents and pulling power of the rap artist. During the entire year U2 managed to make $91.5 million. They sold 1.4 million digital tracks. The tour helped a lot in terms of drawing attention to the digital catalogue. The surprises keep coming but the musicians are busy making lots of money.
