Suggestions about a Michael Jackson Hologram
Since the success of the Tupac hologram at the Coachella Festival, some people have started thinking of yet another audacious scheme. The Jackson 5 will be touring soon and it has been suggested that their brother Michael Jackson might join them as a hologram. He was by far the most successful member of the group and it is hoped that he might add that extra level of credibility to the show of the band which was very popular as teenagers. The tabloids are the ones reporting this speculative news and therefore we have to take it with a pinch of salt. However the idea might begin to make sense to the organizers of the tour.
Are we going to see the King of Pop?
The wonders of modern technology mean that we can watch and listen to stars that died long time ago. That was not a facility that was readily available during the Victorian era. Many people still miss Michael Jackson despite the fact that he led a rather chaotic life. The scheme for a hologram was broached by the success of the presentation by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg at a prestigious festival. During the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, one of the stars hoped that both Jimi Hendrix and Marvin Gaye could be resurrected in this way.
Jackie Jackson seems to have warmed to the idea of resurrecting his brother. He was giving an interview to the Sun Newspaper, a local tabloid in Britain: “It could have been Michael — absolutely. Wouldn’t that be wonderful? As a matter of fact, we had that idea two years ago for Michael’s Cirque du Soleil show.” Money considerations would also be looked at given the fact that Michael Jackson remains one of the top selling artists even after his death. A source was rather ominous about the potential fallout: “As always with Michael’s estate and creating new art with his image, there will be a lot of politics to navigate. But we’ve all seen how well it can be done now. It could be the most lucrative world tour of all time.” We will just watch this space.
