Jay-Z Vows to Invite the President: ‘I’m absolutely going to ask Barack Obama to play my festival’

The new dad is not detached from American Politics. Jay-Z and Beyonce are ardent supporters of President Barack Obama. Now the rapper says that he is going to invite the politician to one of his gigs: ‘I’m absolutely going to ask Barack Obama to play my festival’. We already know that the President can sing the blues in his rich baritone which has been associated with soaring rhetoric. Jay-Z will take the opportunity to invite as many celebrities as possible to his event. Currently he is curating as well as headlining the ‘Budweiser Made in America’ festival which is scheduled for September in Philadelphia. Dropping famous names can only help his marketing strategy.

A President that is at ease with Hollywood

His predecessor was almost universally reviled by the Hollywood set especially after the fiasco in Iraq. However Barack Obama is totally at his with the stars. Both George Clooney and Ricky Martin have been helping him to raise funds for his re-election campaign. Perhaps the people attending the festivities at the Fairmont Park on the 1st and 2nd of September will be surprised by the presence of the Head of State. One cannot argue with celebrity credentials that Jay-Z clearly has but a sitting President in an election year might be a coup d’état.

That is not putting off the rapper: ‘I’m gonna give him a call and I’m gonna try to get him to perform – do a little rendition of Al Green – but I doubt it. I think that opens up the political season. He’ll be so far into helping the world that he probably won’t have time, but I’m absolutely going to ask him’. Jay-Z says that Philadelphia was tailor-made for the festival. The iconic history and design of the metropolitan area is the kind of atmosphere that is needed for such an important concert. Other artists are expected to confirm their attendance later in the year.
