Franz Ferdinand debut 4 new songs at an intimate Ireland show

Their frontman has been an outspoken critic of Oasis and now they are showing their stuff. After something of a hiatus, Franz Ferdinand performed 4 new songs at an intimate show which was held in Ireland. The group from Scotland is known for their quirky looks and alluring music. Their gig in Limerick on the 19th of May is setting the stage for a full comeback. The track listing includes ‘Right Thoughts’, ‘Brief Encounters’, ‘Fresh Strawberries’ and ‘Trees and Animals’. They are currently available at various music websites. The trailers show that the band has not lost any of its characteristic honesty. The music remains attractive even if there is an air of maturity in the performance.

Welcoming back a great Scottish band

During their intimate Ireland gig in Limerick, the band paid tribute to another recently departed music icon. The music industry is mourning the death of Donna Summer who is said to have developed cancer after inhaling some of the debris created after the 911 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. She died on the 18th of May and Franz Ferdinand performed her classic single ‘I Fee Love’ in memory. It is a testament to the wide ranging effect that she had on audiences as a singer straight from the Disco era. Both Ireland and Scotland are fertile grounds for the Disco Diva.

Franz Ferdinand has prepared a set that is going to contain 17 songs. The intimate gig picked out four of them. Others will be the live favorites such as ‘Take Me Out’, ‘The Dark of the Matinee‘ and ‘This Fire’. In January 2009 the Scottish band released their previous album titled ‘Tonight: Franz Ferdinand’. Last year they started working on the follow-up album. We are now seeing that their efforts have paid off. A run of live performances have been scheduled at the Berlin Festival, Primavera Sound, Osheaga Festival, London’s Field Day and the Open’er Festival.
