Members of ‘The xx’ have unveiled details of a second album titled ‘Coexist’

Their forthcoming album has been revealed and ‘The xx’ have titled it ‘Coexist’. It is a follow-up to their self-titled debut album which won a Mercury prize. Recently the band played a trio of intimate shows in London. They will finally release their 2nd album on the 10th of September. A few tracks were previewed at their most recent gigs. They have a mammoth touring stretch throughout the summer.

  • The band talks about their latest album: “We’re so excited to share with you the news that our second record ‘Coexist’ will be released on September 10th”. They acknowledge the long creative process: “After a long time on the road, we took a break, created our own studio and wrote these new songs that we’re so looking forward to playing to you”. ‘The xx’ then invite their fans to their summer tours.

Jamie Smith produced their album. The band is attempting to compete with their world-beating debut in 2009. They recorded their latest album between November last year and May this year at their London studio. US audiences can get their hands on the album on the 11th of September 2011.
