Title Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne: ‘We’ve written 15 new songs’ for new album
According to Ozzy Osbourne from ‘Black Sabbath’, the band is making considerable progress on their new album: ‘We’ve written 15 new songs’. The singer was recently giving a view video interview when he talked about his band which recently reformed (after an announcement last year at a press conference held in Los Angeles). The 4 original members discussed their intentions to return on tour and even record an album. They chose Rick Rubin as their producer.
- The Bill Ward problem: Since that time their drummer pulled out of the project. They also faced problems when their guitarist Tony Iommi was diagnosed with cancer. He is still battling with it but appears with the band on their tours. They are now planning to release something new for their fans.
When interviewed Ozzy Osbourne was quick to point out that they are doing new material in addition to their old hits:“We’ve written about 15 songs so far, whether they’ll get on an album [I don't know]… You just keep on writing. I was trying to [work out]: where would we be now musically if we’d have stayed together?” The singer also talked about a possible title for the new album: “Next year, 2013, is a good clue of what we’ll call the album”.
Geezer Butler who is their bassist revealed that Rick Rubin inspired them for writing their latest material. Apparently he “sat us down, put the first album on and said, ‘Listen to this. Imagine it’s 1969. You just did that. What would you do next?’”. Ozzy has played some shows in Europe as a replacement for the original itinerary which was partly cancelled following Tony Iommi’s health problems. One of the highlights was in Bergen (Norway) where he played with Slash in a concert dominated by classic Sabbath songs.
