‘The Killers’ reveal the official trailer for their new album titled ‘Battle Born’

They are back with ‘Battle Born’. You can catch the official album trailer after it was released by ‘The Killers’. The Las Vegas band has been working hard on their forthcoming album and now we can get a sample of what they have produced. It is their 4th studio album and a follow-up to ‘Day & Age’ which was released in 2008. The official release date is expected sometime in autumn. ‘Battle Born’ is named after their hotel. Incidentally it is also a nickname for their home state Nevada. Their frontman Brandon Flowers spoke about the ethos behind their latest album:

“In a sense, all Americans are battle born. Our ancestors came here for something better.”

They are planning to include various songs such as ‘Runaways’, ‘Flesh and Bone’, ‘Carry Me Home’ and ‘Heart of a Girl’. Interestingly the LP is going to be produced by Stuart Price who collaborated with ‘Take that’. Others are Brendan O’Brien, Damian Taylor and Lillywhite.  He will be co-producing with Madonna, a surprising choice.

According to their drummer Ronnie Vannucci, this was a difficult fourth record that was living up to its title. Mark Stoermer had said that it might be out in time for the V Festival in August but they did not guarantee a date.

“We technically started last May, but we’ve been doing it in pieces, and it’s kind of taken a while to feel it out and figure out what it means to be a band again, because we took so much time off.”

The bassist says that in terms of style, they are moving towards rock when compared to their previous album. He says that it doesn’t sound like them because they are doing something that they have not done before. Meanwhile ‘The Killers’ will headline the V Festival this year at the Hylands Park in Chelmsford (Essex). They will also make an appearance at the Weston Park in Staffordshire during a busy weekend from the 18th to the 19th of August.
