Linkin Park stream a new album online titled ‘Living Things’
The band ‘Linkin Park’ has just streamed their new album online. It is called ‘Living Things’. The set is expected to arrive in the music stores by Tuesday the 26th of Jun. However fans are going to get a chance to listen to a preview on iTunes. A multimedia listening party was organized by Mike Shinoda on Monday night in Los Angeles as part of the publicity trail.
- Discussing the latest album: The singer went into a bit more depth about the kind of album that they had in mind. Jason Bentley was the moderator and he asked about the title. Mike responded that it is part of a place where both lyrics and concepts allowed them to see the bigger picture.
The band hopes that it has made a very personal album that will touch their fans. Every song has been selected in such a way as to reflect the things that they were thinking and doing. ‘Linkin Park’ can boast of some interesting track titles including ‘I’ll be Gone’, ‘Powerless’, ‘Castle of Glass’ and ‘Roads Untraveled’. These are very personal observations that run throughout the record. Fans noticed that the guitar sound (which was last seen in their early records) is beginning to make a comeback.
The audience focuses on the track ‘Burn it down’
For some reason the people (who attended the multimedia listening event) were particularly interested in the background to the song ‘Burn it down’. Shinoda is the view that the single was meant to set the record for the entire album. He said that the fans have been waiting for the band to explore new dimensions. The full stream is just the beginning of a long marketing campaign that will ensure that this becomes a commercial success.
