Azealia Banks Pays Tribute on her New Mixtape: She covers ‘The Prodigy’ on ‘Fantasea’

Already they are signs that ‘Fantasea’ is going to be one hell of a mixtape. Now Azealia Banks has taken it up a notch by covering ‘The Prodigy’. She has selected one track from that set according to news coming from a popular music magazine. The singer gave a backstage interview at the Radio 1 Hackney Weekend when she was backstage. She says that her mixtape has a sea theme but has not elaborated on a mermaid element. Instead she is hoping to impress with witchy hip-hop.

When interviewed Azealia Banks rather charmingly referred to her latest efforts as ‘some real rave shit’. She also mentioned that she intends to cover ‘The Prodigy’. At the moment she has not confirmed the exact song that she will be singing but you can be sure that it is going to be one of the highlights. Her entrance music is based on ‘Out of Space’ as seen by her performances at recent live shows. That could be a hint of what is to come.

On the 25th of June Azealia Banks sent a twitter message to confirm that the release date for the mixtape has been pushed back to the 4th of July. It follows a string of cancelled festival dates which have plagued the singer. The same thing happened during the release of her previous EP titled ‘1991’. Earlier this month the ‘212’ singer had deleted her Twitter account but then decided to restore it only four days later. After ‘Fantasea’ she will release a full length debut album later this year. ‘Broke with Expensive Taste’ is eagerly awaited.
