Matthey Knowles Claims that Destiny’s Child will Release some Unheard Material this Autumn
According to Matthew Knowles, the now defunct group Destiny’s Child is going to release some unheard material in the autumn. Could this herald a big comeback? Nobody knows at the moment. Matthew would know a lot about the band. He is Beyonce’s dad and was at the core of the group in its heydays. During an interview with the Huffington Post, the celebrity dad said that the band was still under contract to Sony Music World Entertainment. Two new releases are due out in November.
- The catalog is revived: Apparently they are putting out two Destiny’s Child catalog records complete with new material. However Knowles quickly clarified that the group was not about to go into the studio together. Nevertheless they were releasing a set of compilations that feature the tracks in question when the group was still together.
The next obvious question was whether the band had a tour in mind. Matthew said that it was highly unlikely that Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland and Beyonce would be touring in support of the release. This is a first release and it takes a year of planning according to him. All the ladies are happily getting on with their solo careers. However Beyonce’s dad hopes that in the next five years there will be a reunion tour. He says that this could be an incredible event.
A great band that has separated into solo careers
When pressed, Knowles joked that it would be hard to choose the songs since they had to throw away some number ones from the set list. Beyonce has by far enjoyed the most successful career but Kelly Rowland has had hits of her own (notably in collaboration with David Guetta). She has also been part of the judging panel for some talent contests in the UK. The last group performance by Destiny’s Child was in 2006 at the NBA All Star Game. Their last album was ‘Destiny Fulfilled’ which was released in 2004.
