Bloc Party have Unveiled their New Single Titled ‘Octopus’
The single ‘Octopus’ was unveiled by Bloc Party (a video link is enclosed at the end of this article). It will be made available for download tomorrow. This is the first single from the 4th studio album for the ‘Helicopter’ singing group. They unveiled ‘Four’ on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show on the 10th of July. We hear that the single will also be available in a limited 7” format from the 13th of August (It is backed by the ‘Straight Thru Cru’). An extended hiatus followed their record ‘Intimacy’ which was released in 2008.
-The band is getting busy again: Bloc Party recently announced an extended UK tour which was further expanded by the inclusion of 8 new dates. The artwork for their new album ‘Four’ attracted lots of attention from the press and their fans who had been waiting for the band to make a comeback.
What is the tracklist for ‘Four’
The band has given us a sneak preview of the tracklist for their forthcoming album. It is given below.
- ‘So He Begins To Lie’
- ’3X3′
- ‘Octopus’
- ‘Real Talk’
- ‘Kettling’
- ‘Day 4′
- ‘Coliseum’
- ‘V.A.L.I.S.’
- ‘Team A’
- ‘Truth’
- ‘The Healing’
- ‘We’re Not Good People’
In addition Bloc Party has allowed us the privilege of seeing a trailer of their video. Perhaps this will put an end to the break-up rumors that were swirling around during the band’s hiatus. The UK Indie rockers will be looking forward to reconnecting with their fans. It must be said that their lead singer Keke Okereke needs to work on his strained voice and the guitars are somehow hectic. Nevertheless the upbeat tempo makes this a worthwhile purchase. They have largely abandoned the Electronic genre that they used in ‘Intimacy’.
