Thurston Moore from Sonic Youth has Unveiled New Tracks

We have a bit of news from Thurston Moore: The Sonic Youth member has unveiled new tracks. At the same time he has spearheaded the launch of a new band called Chelsea Light Moving. His new band also encompasses the talents of Samara Lubelski on bass, Keith Moore on guitar and John Moloney on the drums. They have released their first effort which is titled ‘Burroughs’. According to them, it is inspired by the last words of William Burroughs, the Beat author. You can listen to the new track at Matadorrecords.com.

Next week the band gets back to work

Apparently Chelsea Light Moving will be airing yet another track next week. Thurston Moore has been working with Kim Gordon (also part of Sonic Youth). Their collaboration is meant to lead to the release of a mini-album. The duo will also be working with Yoko Ono on ‘YOKOKIMTHURSTON’. Six tracks will form the full set and they are planning to release it on the 24th of September. One of the highlights is a 14-minute single called ‘Early in the Morning’.

Just last October Moore and Gordon confirmed that they had split even as the rock couple released a statement via their record label Matador Records. 27 years of marriage came to an end although at the time they did not show animosity. After the announcement many people assumed that this would be the end of Sonic Youth. Previously they had hinted that they would record new material in 2011. At least they are still in the music industry and releasing fresh material.
