Corey Taylor (the Slipknot Frontman) Passes out onstage and is carried off by Security

The Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor had to be carried off by security after he passed out on stage. This happened during a show in Dallas on Tuesday night local time. The lead singer passed out on the band’s set. Currently the group is touring as the headline act at the Rockstar Mayhem Festival.

Dallas was their latest stop in the United States. It is just the 8^th show in a tour that encompasses 26 dates. Although the singer has posted a message on his Twitter account to say that he is okay, his fans are understandably worried. Apparently heat exhaustion was the cause of the incident and Corey will continue to perform for the rest of the tour.

The singer said hello to everyone and indicated that he got overheated in Dallas. However he is ready for Houston which is the next tour stop for Slipknot. We should not be surprised at the explanation given the fact that the band is well known for its pyrotechnics, costume changes and high energy live performances. The Texas summer can be unforgiving and the singer was bound to succumb at one point.

In any case the show at the Gexa Energy Pavilion was going well until the singer had to be carried off. Even before the incident, you could see that there was lots of activity going on. Mere mortals would struggle with such a hectic performance that is just a small aspect of a long tour on the road. Hopefully Corey Taylor will be fine. His fans need him for another 18 concerts in this tour.
