Green Day have Written a Tribute Song for the Late Amy Winehouse

Following the death of Amy Winehouse, many tributes were sent out to one of the greatest singers that Britain has ever produced. Green Day is now joining that chorus with a song of their own to celebrate the life and art of the singer. The punk veterans are going to release their three albums under the trilogy that has been named. ‘¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré!‘. One of the 38 songs that they have in mind will be titled ‘Amy’ and it is a response to the death of Winehouse last year.

This was revealed during a recent interview with an online music magazine outlet. He said that he did not know the singer personally but felt that it was a tragic loss to the industry. Although the second album is a party record, the band still ended it with pathos. In one sense ‘Amy’ is a consequence of the party.

Armstrong says that he felt a strong connection when the death of his colleague within the industry. He says that her music was connected to old soul music and that he always associated her with Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and the original Motown crew. That generation lost someone that was able to connect them to the modern music industry.

Meanwhile the band continues releasing their trilogy

The schedule indicates that ‘¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré!’ will be released in three stages. The first album will come out on the 24^th of September while the second is due on the 12^th of November. Finally they will close the set with the final installment on the 14^th of January next year. The sadness of Amy Winehouse’s death has inspired many artists and she will be missed for years to come. Her dad has been working with producers in order to release some of the material that she was working on prior to her death.

The fact that Metallica is paying tribute to her shows the enormous affection that Amy enjoyed in those circles where genuine talent was appreciated. She never failed to impress with her unique voice and style despite the personal problems that she battled with throughout her life.
