Billy Talent have Confirmed the Full Details of their New Album Titled ‘Dead Silence’
We now have confirmation about the details of ‘Dead Silence’, the new album from Billy Talent. The Canadian band is releasing their fourth album which features 14 tracks. One of the highlights is inevitably going to be the single ‘Viking Death March’. In reality this is their fifth studio album but one of them was produced under a different name. The official release date has been confirmed as the 7th of September. Their guitarist Ian D’Sa was responsible for producing the album.
Interestingly ‘Dead Silence’ was not self-titled like the other albums before it. Previously they followed this convention when naming their studio efforts: ‘Billy Talent’, ‘Billy Talent II’ and ‘Billy Talent III’. In fact their debut album ‘Watoosh’ was released in 1999 but this was under the Pezz name. Last month they released their lead single ‘Viking Death March’. It is the second track on the listings.
Previewing new material from the band
On the 16th of August the band will be at the XOYO venue in London where they will preview some of their new material. Later on they will play on the NME/Radio Stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals this summer. You will remember that they performed at the Download Festival in June. Clearly this is a busy time for the band and they will have even more work following the release of their forthcoming album.
- What about the tracklisting? Apparently ‘Death Silence’ is going to include the following numbers: ‘Lonely Road To Absolution’, ‘Viking Death March’, ‘Surprise Surprise’, ‘Running Across The Tracks’, ‘Love Was Still Around’, ‘Stand Up And Run’, ‘Crooked Minds’ and ‘Man Alive!’. Others are: ‘Hanging by a Thread’, ‘Cure for the Enemy’, ‘Don’t Count on the Wicked’, ‘Show Me the Way’ and ‘Swallowed Up By the Ocean’.
The Canadian hardcore group is not leaving anything to chance. Setting aside the changes in naming tradition, the band hopes to dazzle its long-term fans with new material and the same hard edge that made them such a success. Their frontman Ben Kowalewicz said that it was an amazing experience as they recorded their latest studio effort. He says that the members did not put pressure on themselves even as they worked. In fact they did not set any unnecessary boundaries or restrictions. The result is a very impressive set of music that is bound to win them even more fans. Already the lead single is making waves.
