It is a case of ‘True Romance’ for the band Citizens! Their new single is coming out and the fans are anxiously waiting to hear what the band has in store for them. Meanwhile the London band plans to play six dates during November 2012. The UK tour will also act as a publicity campaign to drum up support for their new material. The five-piece group will kick off their tour in Glasgow on the 13th of November. The next day they will be in Edinburgh. Other dates are at York, Darlington and Brighton. They will round off their tour by playing at the XOYO venue in London on the 20th of November.

-      Busy times coming up: Meanwhile Citizens! are busy drumming up support for their new track which has been taken from their debut LP. It is appropriately titled ‘Here We Are’. The LP was released on the 28th of May but they are using the drip-drip technique to very good effect.

The new album has 11 tracks and was recorded in Scotland in 2011 with the help of Alex Kapranos (frontman for Franz Ferdinand). Alex was the producer and you can expect some influences from his own band which is an old hand at these things. It has been announced that the band will play at the 2012 Reading and Leeds festivals as well as well as the Shoreditch 1234 Festival which is due to be held in London. You can find out about the tickets by calling 0871 230 1094.

Recording new material with the help of industry experts

The work with Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand was ultimately very fruitful. The British mod-pop boys needed something substantial to ensure that they did not sink into irrelevance, a major fault that is experienced by many budding artists. Meanwhile the critics are impressed by their efforts in the debut single ‘True Romance’. They do not hold back at all with their giddy melodies. An irresponsible prance adds to the feeling that this is a set that is not full of doubt or anxiety. Often you will get a tinge of synth as the masculine vocals ride over the rather flirtatious lyrics.

This is a song for people who are in the various stages of love. Tom Burke is on the vocals while Thom Rhoades takes on the guitar. Meanwhile Martyn Richmond produces a booming bass to complement the work that is being done by Lawrence Diamond on the keyboard and guitar. Mike Evans is on the drums in a great combination that is surely going to be one of the singles to look forward to in the new season.
