Ellie Goulding has announced a New Album Titled ‘Halcyon’
Soon we will get the chance to listen to the new album by Ellie Goulding. The singer has announced that ‘Halcyon’ will be with us shortly. It is indeed the singer’s second album and she plans to release it in October this year. Her fans had been eagerly anticipating its release and this will probably give them reason to rejoice. This is a follow-up to ‘Lights’, her debut album which was released in 2010. A single titled ‘Anything Could Happen’ will be released on the 30th of September and will precede the full album launch which is scheduled to take place on the 8th of October.
- Setting the groundwork for the album: Earlier this month Goulding previewed her forthcoming album with a release. The cover of ‘Hanging On’ which was originally done by Active Child heralded the new studio effort that is coming out in October. It featured a guest appearance by Tinie Tempah.
New details are emerging about ‘Halcyon’. For example the singer was a co-producer for the song which was recorded in Hay Valley, her hometown. The other co-producer was Jim Elliot. He once worked with Ladyhawke and Kylie Minogue. Meanwhile it was revealed that the singer and her boyfriend Skrillex were busy recording with the Swedish House Mafia. Apparently a new album on that front is expected anytime soon.
New projects for the singer and the revival of old ones
Sebastian Ingrosso of the Swedish House Mafia acknowledged the demo which was worked on by the three acts. He said that there was no pressure to conform to a particular format. Instead everyone seemed to be having fun. The Interscope Record Label arranged the session. Apparently both Ellie and Skrillex came in half an hour late, by which time he had already started on a melody.
Skrillex seemed to love the song which finally came into being after a few hours. Ellie Goulding is first developing a great reputation as one of the leading British songbirds of her generation. She is the apple of Skrillex’s eye, if the newspapers are to be believed. Her new album allows us to focus firmly on her art which is winning praise from both fans and the critics. At the moment it is not yet clear whether the work that they did during the session with the Swedish House Mafia is going to be included on her forthcoming album or whether it is going to be allocated to a separate set. In any case here is a sample of Ellie Goulding in action:
