A Club Owner has hit out at Nicki Minaj: The Rapper is accused of Snubbing a $30,000 Aftershow Appearance
Perhaps she was tired or the money was not enough but Nicki Minaj is facing complaints from a Club owner after the rapper snubbed a $30,000 aftershow appearance without an adequate explanation. Matt Cislo is not pleased with the singer’s antics. He says that she has given his club a ‘bad rep’ because of her no-show stunts. Apparently the singer took the fee to attend the event but failed to show up. It is a black mark for the ‘Starships’ rapper who has enjoyed a warm reception so far.
- Refusing to honor a commitment: Minaj had been performing at the Verizon Grand Prairie in Dallas on the 29th of July. She was then supposedly going to perform at an official after party which was due to be held at the Zouk Nightclub. The club owner says that he paid her but she failed to turn up and his club is getting a bad reputation as a result.
When the pressure was increased about her non-appearance, Nicki Minaj took to twitter. She said that the promoters had sold the tickets under false pretences but it was not clear whether this was the reason why she decided not to turn up. Matt Cislo vehemently denies the allegations. He was speaking to a location station Channel 33 as the faux pas escalated. The club owner said that the singer had been paid in full and she was making his colleagues look unprofessional.
The diva refuses to make an appearance
The club owner says that he looked at the promoter’s contract as well as the wire transfer for the money that was paid. Apparently Nicki Minaj turned up and her security did a walk-through but then she decided not to come in. When the punters found out that the star of the evening was not going to turn up they started to sent text messages and emails complaining about a fake show.
Meanwhile Nicki Minaj is scheduled to return to the UK in October for a 10-date arena tour. She begins at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham on the 21st of October. It will end on the 7th of November at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff where she is the headline act. Other stops in the tour are in Birmingham, Liverpool, Sheffield and London. Hopefully she will not pull any diva stunts by not turning up at events. The singer is not immune from a touch of controversy from time to time.
