Snoop Dogg says that he is the Reincarnation of Bob Marley
Sometimes you have to wonder at the mentality of Snoop Dogg. Having been effectively banned from visiting Norway because of his attempt to carry marijuana into that country, the singer now claims that he has always been a reincarnation of Bob Marley. Apparently he was given his new identity ‘Snoop Lion’ by a group of Rastafarian priests. This happened during his spiritual awakening. Unsurprisingly the music icon is in the process of recording his maiden reggae album.
- Is this a case of presumptuous confidence? The cynics may greet the news of the miraculous conversion with disdain but Dogg insists that he is on the right track. A documentary is in the works and it shows him making his journey to Jamaica, a major recruitment center for the Rastafarians. At the same time he uses the opportunity to record his album titled ‘Diplo’.
The documentary that charts the conversion of Snoop Dogg is appropriately titled ‘Reincarnated’. Recently the singer was detained at an airport in Norway after being discovered with too much cash and a bit of marijuana. Having visited the distinctly easygoing Jamaican people, he decided to undergo a religious and artistic awakening (the results of which we will soon be able to judge when his new album comes out). A new moniker has been bestowed on the controversial artist even as he searches for a new path in his life.
A spiritual awakening on holiday
When interviewed Snoop Dogg said that he did not know about the process until he went to the temple. A high priest asked him what his name was and he gave the customary ‘Snoop Dogg’ response. The priest then looked him in the eye and said that this was no more. He is now the light and a lion. The former Dogg says that from that moment he started to understand why he was in Jamaica.
Of course we know that he was born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. Over time he has failed to resist the temptation to take on outlandish aliases. He says that he always felt a special connection to Bob Marley, the celebrated music legend who is one of Jamaica’s most prized exports. Perhaps the rather liberal approach to drug taking in that religion helped him along the way. Nevertheless the new awakening has given him new artistic energy. The 40-year old felt that he had begun to feel stale after such a long time in the music industry. You can watch Snoop Dogg in action by clicking the link below:
