Frank Turner has Unveiled a Track by his Hardcore Band Mongol Horde
It appears that Frank Turner is going straight ahead with his plans to fully embed his new hardcore band Mongol Horde within the music industry. They have unveiled their first track. The former Million Dead man promised something special and his new outfit has delivered. The click is available on the link at the end of this piece. ‘Casual Threats from Weekend Hardmen’ has been described as being a fast punky track which tends to mirror the classic style of Black Flag and Minor Threat.
A new project for an old band member
In fact Mongol Horde features Ben Dawson who was also part of the Million Dead group. Matt Nadir is another member but he also doubles as a member of the backing band ‘The Sleeping Souls’. During a previous interview, Turner said that the band had grown musically and they were taking inspiration from some famous outfits including Mclusky, Hot Snakes and Jesus Lizard.
Apparently the new work will be lyrically different from what Frank Turner is doing at the moment. He actually describes it as being deprived in a way. For example the first song he wrote is about a tapeworm using Natalie Portman as a glove puppet which helps lead an uprising in Hollywood. The new outfit is busy writing songs and they will also have a few live dates in order to drum up support for the projects that they are doing.
In any case Frank Turner is expected to play at the V Festival. He will also be part of the line-up for the Strummer of Love. You can catch him at the Beautiful Days festival as well. It is a very busy schedule but it also serves a secondary purpose of telling the world about what he is really capable of if given half a chance. Follow this link to find out:
