Listen to the New Track from ‘XX’

It is the season for ‘The xx’ debuts. The busy band has just released its single ‘Chained’. All this is part of the preparations for the second album ‘Coexist’ which is due to be launched on the 10th of September. You can listen to the track by clicking the link at the end of this article. Meanwhile the London band continues drumming up support for their upcoming series of intimate shows which will occur in the same month that they are releasing their eagerly anticipated album.

-      Where can you catch them? They will be at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on the day that their album is released. Thereafter they will make an appearance at the Coal Exchange in Cardiff on the 11th. This will be followed by a show at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh the following day. Furthermore they have booked an appearance at the Isle of Wight Bestival prior to this short set of concerts (7th of September).

One of the things that have become clear about the band is the level of confidence they have both in their art and the kind of reception that they will get from the fans. ‘The xx’ has been known for being shy. Even their lead vocalist Romy Madley Croft recently confessed as much. They are gradually releasing the tracklist on their forthcoming album. We already know that the full listings will have the following numbers: ‘Angels’, ‘Chained’, ‘Fiction’, ‘Try’ and ‘Reunion’. Others are ‘Sunset’, ‘Missing’, ‘Tides’, ‘Unfold’, ‘Swept Away’ and ‘Our Song’.

The xx are becoming popular by the day

The drip-drip of song releases is having the desired effect. Tickets for the intimate ‘The xx’ shows are selling like hot cakes. The album will be available on deluxe LP, LP and CD. You can also download it. Pre-orders are being taken and the single ‘Chained’ is yet another form of confirmation that the band really means business. Here is a clip of their latest release:
