Skrillex will Feature on a New Album by Kanye West
He is not one to turn down lucrative partnerships. Therefore it is not surprising that Skrillex has been invited to feature on a new album by Kanye West. The star has been a Dubstep revelation and he says that his collaboration with the rapper is going to be the very first track on his LP. Meanwhile the dubstep producer is working on his debut full length album. That is in addition to the collaboration with the ‘808s & Heartbreaks’ rapper at the beginning of 2012.
- Speaking to the Daily Beast: He did not specify whether the track was going to feature prominently on ‘Cruel Summer’ or whether it is going to be part of the much anticipated sixth studio album from Skrillex. Perhaps he is more likely to put it on his own album given the fact that ‘Cruel Summer’ was billed as a showcase work for those artists that are signed up to the GOOD Music record label which happens to be owned by West.
Earlier this week some fans were shocked by the revelation that Kanye had written a song titled ‘Perfect Bitch’ which was supposed to be a compliment to his latest girlfriend Kim Kardashian. The feminists were outraged but that is neither here nor there. In fact the track also got attention from the fact that it contains extracts from ‘Carmina Burana’, that masterpiece by the German composer Carl Orff who first presented it in 1937. This was the exact piece that was partly lifted by Nas for his successful single ‘Hate Me Now’.
An auspicious debut of a magnificent song
During an appearance at the PH-D Rooftop Lounge club in New York, the new controversial track was given its debut as one of the DJ Set pieces. You can catch ‘Cruel Summer’ on the 4th of September when it is released. The last full album by West was ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ which came out in 2010. At the moment the fans are waiting for his latest studio effort and the leaks from his camp indicate that he is not too far off in terms of producing the goods.
