Catch up with the real Alicia Keys and Taylor Swift now as they tell their story.
If you want to pick up their backstories then you will need to watch the latest segment of VH1 ‘Storytellers’ which focuses on Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys and Pink. Three specials have been arranged to occur on consecutive nights during November. This coincides with a number of album releases and will undoubtedly increase the buzz surrounding the artists. The trio will also take center stage at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards which are scheduled to take place next month. This will be almost like an introduction to the main event when they start to tell their backstories in November.
- Getting to know our idols better: On the 11th of November it will be the turn of Taylor Swift while Alicia Keys is scheduled to appear on the 12th. Finally we get to see Pink on the 13th of that month. All three women are dropping albums later this year and therefore the timing of these appearances is fortuitous.
Pink recently gave an interview to EW.com in which she said that she always loved the Storytellers series because it fitted in with her objectives as a songwriter. She says that it is always fun to be able to tell your stories and that people have not heard hers before.
The stars begin telling their stories
As for Swift, she has decided to tape her episode in front of a group of contest winners. Anyone who studies at an accredited college or high school in Continental USA can enter the competition. The winners will join the Red singer as she performs for them and tells fans stories about her life. A website for this specific purpose has been set up. She will perform at one of the schools involved in the project. The top five schools also win $100,000 as a grant towards helping their music programs. On the 21st of August the competition officially kicks off and will end on the 23rd of September.
A month before the program air, ‘Swifties’ will be able to watch Taylor Swift performing her newest revenge hit ‘We are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ live. It will be the first time that it is aired in this way at the VMAs which are scheduled to take place on the 6th of September. Meanwhile her album titled Red will come out on the 22nd of October. Pink will drop new music on the 14th of September as ‘The Truth about Love’ is released in the stores. Alicia Keys is expected to perform a brand new track on the show as a precursor to her ‘Girl on Fire’ album release. Here is a clip to start you off:
