They have been dating for six months and have now decided to wed in an event that some might consider very quick when compared to other celebrity relationships. The announcement was confirmed by a spokesperson for the pair. BBC Newsbeat released the latest news about the couple. Apparently they met in February when they were co-writing a song for her fifth studio album.
-Romance at work: Previously Avril Lavigne was married to Deryck Whibley of Sum 41. That marriage ended in divorce in 2009 after three years. Later on she dated Brody Jenner, the American TV star. He is Kim Kardashian’s stepbrother. However they decided to break up at the beginning of this year.
Chad Kroeger is a good 10 years older than his future bride and has never tied the knot before. Meanwhile Adam Levine the former Maroon 5 frontman went on twitter to joke about the incident. He said that he wanted to clear the confusion about the announcement and that he was not engaged to Chad Kroeger of Nickelback. There was a positive response from Perez Hilton who congratulated the pair.
In related news the Seinfeld actor Jason Alexander recently teamed up with Nickelback. They were working on a video for the single ‘Trying not to Love you’. The promo was panned by some fans but that is what it is. The fans may not be too pleased by Chad’s engagement also. About 31 people reportedly said that the marriage was a sign of the Apocalypse.
