Green Day have Offered an Exclusive update on Billie Joe Armstrong’s Recovery from his Illness
Is Billie getting any better? The band offers some information.
In an exclusive interview Green Day has been giving us an update on Billie Joe Armstrong and his sudden illness. Apparently he came down with a bout of heavy dehydration. Nevertheless the band is expected to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards which are going to take place today. Three days ago the band was forced to cancel one of their shows in Bologna (Italy) when their frontman was unexpectedly hospitalized. At the time of the interview Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt were backstage at the Staples Center getting ready for the rehearsals for the forthcoming performance at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.
The fans are waiting for an update
Since the hospitalization, the band has not yet given the fans an update on the exact health state of Billie Joe Armstrong. Nevertheless the ever-watchful TMZ team caught him arriving at LAX on Tuesday. He mouthed to the cameras that his voice was completely gone. The band was pressed for details and they decided to come clean. Their frontman had influenza and was really in a bad way. When he woke up in the morning, it became quickly that he was in no fit state to perform. It is reported that he was vomiting profusely and the band joked that it is hard to sing when you are puking.
The remaining band members say that Billie is recovering nicely even if he was not yet ready to do the press rounds. There is a strict regime of push-ups, vitamins and prayers to help him along. Green Day is one of the hardest working bands in the entire rock genre. Dehydration or no dehydration, they are planning to get things moving again. Dirnt said that they are going to make their way back to Bologna and play as soon as possible. He says that they take pride in the fact that they have only missed about five shows in their entire career but they are still human. As for the VMA performance they are planning to drink chicken blood and angel piss.
