The ‘Snuggie’ Kid Dances from YouTube to the MTV Video Music Awards
The journey from YouTube to the MTV VMAs is revealed…a precocious kid travels well.
All the preparations are in their final stages and we have one more addition to the lineup. The ‘Snuggie’ kid will dance all the way from YouTube to the VMAs. The viral videos are not missing out on the action as the MTV whirlwinds begin to rage in earnest. Ton Do-Nguyen is the home video mastermind and he was only too glad to talk about the success of his shot-for-shot recreation of the ‘Countdown’ video by Beyonce. The Queen B was impressed and she called it brilliant. Two seconds have been set aside for him and his mum to fly out and attend the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony which is taking place today.
Freaking out at the opportunity of a lifetime
Nguyen was not going to hide his excitement at attending the show and he described the incident as being awesome. This YouTube sensation has more than earned his place at the event scheduled for the 6th of September 2012. Beyonce is a fixture in this ceremony and has been nominated. Therefore her name recognition inevitably helped Ton Do-Nguyen to bag this much-sought-after ticket. The 16-year old seems to be very conversant with all the little details involved in music video choreography. For example he broke down the nominees for the Best Choreography category with corresponding Snuggie-clad mash-up videos for good measure.
First he said that ‘Levels’ by Avicii is good fun and also paid tribute to the intricate moves in ‘Turn up the Music’ by Chris Brown. In terms of great direction, he liked ‘Dance Again’ which is a collaborative effort by Pitbull and J-Lo. The clean and sharp choreography impressed him. According to him there can only be one winner and that is Queen B. It is time to pack and get to the awards ceremony.
