Adele is Rumored to be Recording the New Soundtrack to the James Bond Movie

Has Adele become a Bond Girl?

What better way to celebrate the achievements of one of the greatest singers that Britain has ever produced than to invite her to record a soundtrack for James Bond? Apparently Adele could be in the process of recording a new soundtrack for the quintessential British film series. Rumor has it that the singer visited the Abbey Road Studios in order to record the closing track for the upcoming ‘Skyfall’. This news was reported by ‘The Sun’, a UK tabloid newspaper that is known for its scoops.

New ventures for the talented young artist

The visit was taken to suggest that Adele would be recording with Thomas Newman. He has been appointed by Sam Mendes, the film’s director. The task to write a film score for a movie of this magnitude is never easy but with the help of a sassy young thing, he might be able to pull it off. Apparently both the composer and conductor were seen at Abbey Road all month working on the score. She has the deep voice and powerful delivery that Dame Shirley displayed in ‘Diamonds are Forever’ and ‘Goldfinger’.

If they choose Adele, she will be the perfect embodiment of young British cultural life in action. Thomas Newman previously composed tracks for film series including WALL-E, Finding Nemo, ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ and ‘Revolutionary Road’ by Sam Mendes. The 24 year old Adele is currently expecting her first child but has sold over 22 million copies of her second studio album titled ‘21’. She is a worldwide sensation with particular affinity for her US fans.

The film Skyfall will open in the UK on the 26th of October. It will mark the 50th anniversary of the Bond series. The franchise kicked off in 1962 with Sean Connery in the lead role. He was a magnificent embodiment of Dr. No, the famous creation by Ian Fleming. Since then a host of secret agents have made their careers with the film.
