Lady Gaga has sold Six Million Bottles of her ‘Fame’ Perfume in a Week

She is not just good at doing Europop style dance music. Lady Gaga remains one of the most formidable entrepreneurs of our time. The singer has recently come up with her own perfume called ‘Fame’ and it seems to be selling very well. In just seven days, the singer managed to shift six million bottles. Many supermarket outlets would be happy with such a record. The ‘Born this Way’ star who is notorious for her outrageous clothes took to Twitter on the 22nd of September. She announced to her fans that she was getting great sales on her perfume. It is now the second fastest selling fragrance behind the Coco Chanel collection.
From a bizarre launch to a brilliant product
The entrance of ‘Fame’ on the market was not without its controversies. It was launched on a rather bizarre live show at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. This was on the 13th of September. Lady Gaga opened the bash by clambering onto a giant perfume bottle. She then pretended to be asleep for two hours. Fans were invited to touch her hands but they were requested not to disturb her slumber. Upon waking, she preened herself in front of a mirror.
The singer crouched down on a champagne bucket and many assumed that she was urinating. A tattoo was applied on her head. This weirdness did not stop stars such as Marc Jacobs, Yoko Ono, Michael Strahan, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Jason Wu from attending.
It has not all been good news for the ‘Bad Romance’ singer. Her record label has allegedly ordered her to lose weight and to quit gorging on her favorite foods according to Radar Online. This happened after they were forced to order her better fitting costumes on tour. At least her perfume is selling well.
