The Killers are back to the Top of the UK Album Chart: ‘Battle Born’ Dazzles

Who is topping the UK charts?

The period of absence has done them no harm at all. The Killers were back to their very best with ‘Battle Born’. The album now sits at the top of the UK Album Chart. This feat allowed them to beat the sprightly Pink who was also in the running for the top spot. This is their fourth number one album in the UK during a sensational career. They have shifted 94,000 copies of this album so far thus making it the 3rd fastest seller of 2012 up to this point. The top two spots in this mini contest are taken by Lana Del Rey with ‘Born to Die’ and Emeli Sande with ‘Our Version of Events’.

-      Pink settles for sloppy seconds: Her album took the number two spot after selling just fewer than 80,000 copies. Nevertheless ‘The Truth about Love’ remains a remarkable work of art.

Last week the number two spot was taken by The Script. They have currently dropped one place to the 3rd position. The fourth is taken by ‘Coexist’, the spunky new album from ‘The xx’. Meanwhile Coldplay continue to make their presence known with Mylo Xyloto. It has dropped three places to take the 7th position. Number 8 is by Bob Dylan. Fans were looking forward to ‘The Tempest’ and they are not disappointed here.

Other fixtures in the album charts

The pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen has launched her debut album titled Kiss. It has a respectable achievement of the 10th position. The Top Ten on the album charts is rounded off by Plan B with their ‘iLL Manors’.

Meanwhile The Killers have extended their upcoming UK Arena Tour in support of ‘Battle Born’. They need not worry too much because it already appears that the fans are out in their droves to purchase their artistic efforts.
