The Weeknd Set to Release His Debut Album in November
The R&B artist finally releases
his full-length album after
his three mixtapes.
Canadian R&B singer The Weeknd has announced the upcoming release of his debut CD ‘Trilogy.’ The album features the artist/producer’s three highly lauded mixtapes: ‘Thursday,’ ‘House of Balloons’, and ‘Echoes of Silence.’ These were mixed and mastered meticulously for the first time. There will also be three new tracks. Overall, the album is a compilation of 30 different tracks.
The Weeknd, Abel Tesfaye in real life, has managed to be an international live draw through his shows staged from coast to coast. The trailblazing artist’s first headline tour sold out across the US. He has already made guest appearances on Drake’s concert tour and has performed in several highly celebrated festivals locally and internationally (particularly London). Some other popular icons have already watched him perform on stage, including Florence Welch of Florence And The Machine and pop star Katy Perry.
He has also collaborated with Drake in several album tracks, including the title single of the album ‘Take Care.’ The Weeknd was hired to create a remix version of ‘Shake It Out’ by Florence And The Machine. Even the famous Lady Gaga was once enchanted by his talent and she asked him to create a remix of the hit song ‘Marry the Night.’
The new album will be co-produced by XO, who has always been supportive of The Weeknd’s career. Together, they have entered into a strategic partnership with UMG’s Republic Records and Universal Music Canada. The alliance is historic in the industry as it is one of the most unique collaboration in music.
‘Trilogy’ will be available in stores and online starting November 12. Both the physical and digital editions of the album will feature new and unreleased materials. The Weeknd has expressed confidence that the album will be an effective introduction to his entrancing and enigmatic sound.
