DJ Calls Madonna’s Fans as ‘Idiots’
Deadmau5 is up against up to 10 million Twitter fans of the Queen of Pop.
Deadmau5 said his latest spat with Madonna is like ‘farting against thunder.’ The DJ dismissed allegations that his row against the Queen of Pop is his attempt to be talked about or to get attention. He added that had he known the pop star’s fans would not understand him, he should have been more relentless in stating his opinion.
The feud started earlier this year. Deadmau5 branded Madonna as an idiot following her onstage pronouncements that seemed to have promoted prohibited drug use. Of course, the singer retaliated and the two eventually started exchanging barbs on social media site Twitter, where Madonna currently has more than 10 million followers. Though not directly stated, the DJ may have encountered a lot of online bashers, whom he may think as among his latest enemy’s fans.
In another issue, the DJ/producer also downplayed his inclusion in the latest list of ‘highest paid DJs’ by Forbes magazine. In a report posted along with that list, it was revealed that he earned $11.5 million. He justified the figure. The DJ explained that his overhead costs can reach up to $10 million. The expenditures include expenses in producing records and in staging tours. He reiterated that the money they make usually is used to repay the costs incurred before albums and shows.
Deadmau5, Joel Thomas Zimmer man in real life, released his latest album ‘Album Title Goes Here’ last September. The new CD is his sixth studio recording. The DJ has been vocal in his plans to make his next album a concept LP like the one released by Pink Folyd in the past (‘The Wall”). The first single from the new album is ‘Professional Griefers.’ The song also features Gerard Way of the band My Chemical Romance.
