Who are the Saturdays?

The UK pop band The Saturdays consists of five girls called Frankie Sandford, Una Healy, Mollie King, Vanessa White and Rochelle Wiseman.

They signed in 2007 to the record label Fascination Records which is a subsidiary of Polydor Records.  Their first song to hit the charts was If This Is Love and it featured in the top 10. Their first album to be released was Chasing Lights which led the band on to their first sell out tour called The Work Tour.  The second album to be released in October 2009 was Wordshaker.

They have released a book called The Saturdays, Our Story and have started their own jewellery and nail polish line which is a hit with their younger fans out there.

Una Healy was born on 10th October 1981 in Ireland; she is now married to Ben Foden (England Rugby Player) and had a daughter Aoife Belle Foden on 13th March 2012.

Mollie King was born on 4th June 1987 in England. Before she joined The Saturdays she was part of another girl group called Fallen Angelz who appeared on The X-Factor.

Frankie Sandford was born on 14th January 1989 in England. She was dating Dougie Poynter (between 2008 and 2010) from the boy band McFly but after a well publicised break up she is now dating UK Football star Wayne Bridge. Before joining The Saturdays she was part of S Club Juniors which were formed in 2001 and split in 2005.

Vanessa Karen White is the youngest member of the group and was born on 30th October 1989 in Somerset, England.

Rochelle Eulah Eileen Wiseman was born on 21st March 1989 in England.  Before Joining The Saturdays she was a member of S Club 8 between 2001 and 2005. Rochelle is the niece of England international footballer, Paul Ince. Rochelle married JLS band member Marvin Humes on 27th July 2012 at Blenheim Palace after meeting in March 2010.

The group are currently in Los Angeles, USA, filming their E! TV series which is following the girls while they are trying to break the USA.  While there they are recording the video to the next song to be released, the follow up to 30 Days.

They are yet to get a number one single in the UK but they are still together and still trying. Maybe soon they will be able to clinch that number one spot that every artist wants.
